2013-09-07s390/compat,uid16: use current_cred()Heiko Carstens1-4/+5
86a264ab "CRED: Wrap current->cred and a few other accessors" converted all uses of current->cred into current_cred() but left s390 alone. So let's convert s390 finally as well, only five years later. This way we also get rid of a sparse warning which complains about a possible invalid rcu dereference which however is a false positive. 2013-09-07s390/ap_bus: use and-mask instead of a castHeiko Carstens1-1/+1
Let's get rid of another sparse false positive: drivers/s390/crypto/ap_bus.c:416:64: warning: cast truncates bits from constant value (102030405060708 becomes 5060708) So instead of using a cast let's use an and-mask. That way sparse remains silent and one doesn't always have to check if this is a valid warning/bug or just a false positive. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>
2013-09-07s390/ftrace: avoid pointer arithmetics with function pointersHeiko Carstens1-2/+2
Pointer arithmetics with function pointers is not really defined, but seems to do the right thing. Let's cast to a void pointer to have a defined behaviour, at least when using gcc. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>

2013-09-07s390/compat signal: add couple of __force annotationsHeiko Carstens1-5/+5
Add __force annotations to get rid of a couple of sparse warnings: arch/s390/kernel/compat_signal.c:335:35: warning: cast removes address space of expression Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>

2013-09-04s390/irq: rework irq subclass handlingHeiko Carstens9-57/+38
Let's not add a function for every external interrupt subclass for which we need reference counting. Just have two register/unregister functions which have a subclass parameter: void irq_subclass_register(enum irq_subclass subclass); void irq_subclass_unregister(enum irq_subclass subclass); Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>
2013-09-04s390/irq: use hlists for external interrupt handler arrayHeiko Carstens1-12/+12

2013-09-04s390/dumpstack: convert print_symbol to %pSRHeiko Carstens1-10/+10
This is the same as what other architectures did. The change has also the advantage that there won't be any interleaving messages between printk() and print_symbol(). Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>

2013-09-04s390/bpf,jit: fix address randomizationHeiko Carstens1-1/+1
Add misssing braces to hole calculation. This resulted in an addition instead of an substraction. Which in turn means that the jit compiler could try to write out of bounds of the allocated piece of memory. This bug was introduced with aa2d2c73 "s390/bpf,jit: address randomize and write protect jit code". 2013-09-03ipc/msg.c: Fix lost wakeup in msgsnd().Manfred Spraul1-7/+5
The check if the queue is full and adding current to the wait queue of pending msgsnd() operations (ss_add()) must be atomic. Otherwise: - the thread that performs msgsnd() finds a full queue and decides to sleep. - the thread that performs msgrcv() first reads all messages from the queue and then sleeps, because the queue is empty. - the msgrcv() calls do not perform any wakeups, because the msgsnd() task has not yet called ss_add(). - then the msgsnd()-thread first calls ss_add() and then sleeps. Net result: msgsnd() and msgrcv() both sleep forever. Observed with msgctl08 from ltp with a preemptible kernel. Fix: Call ipc_lock_object() before performing the check. The patch also moves security_msg_queue_msgsnd() under ipc_lock_object: - msgctl(IPC_SET) explicitely mentions that it tries to expunge any pending operations that are not allowed anymore with the new permissions. If security_msg_queue_msgsnd() is called without locks, then there might be races. - it makes the patch much simpler. 2013-09-03[SCSI] sg: push file descriptor list locking down to per-device lockingVaughan Cao1-28/+34

2013-09-03[SCSI] sg: checking sdp->detached isn't protected when openVaughan Cao1-8/+9
@detached is set under the protection of sg_index_lock. Without getting the lock, new sfp will be added during sg removal and there is no chance for it to be picked out. So check with sg_index_lock held in sg_add_sfp(). 2013-09-03[SCSI] sg: no need sg_open_exclusive_lockVaughan Cao1-29/+5

2013-09-03[SCSI] sg: use rwsem to solve race during exclusive openVaughan Cao1-38/+41
A race condition may happen if two threads are both trying to open the same sg with O_EXCL simultaneously. It's possible that they both find fsds list is empty and get_exclude(sdp) returns 0, then they both call set_exclude() and break out from wait_event_interruptible and resume open. Now use rwsem to protect this process. Exclusive open gets write lock and others get read lock. The lock will be held until file descriptor is closed. This also leads 'exclude' only a status rather than a check mark. 2013-09-03[SCSI] scsi_debug: fix logical block provisioning support when ↵Akinobu Mita1-2/+8
unmap_alignment != 0 Commit b90ebc3d5c41c9164ae04efd2e4f8204c2a186f1 ("[SCSI] scsi_debug: fix logical block provisioning support") fixed several issues with logical block provisioning support, but it still doesn't properly fix the cases when unmap_alignment > 0. For example, load scsi_debug module with the following module parameters and make all blocks mapped by filling the storage with zero. # modprobe scsi_debug lbpu=1 unmap_alignment=1 unmap_granularity=4 # dd if=/dev/zero of=$DEV Then, try to unmap the first unmappable blocks at lba=1, but GET LBA STATUS unexpectedly reports that the last UNMAP has done nothing. # sg_unmap --lba=1 --num=4 $DEV # sg_get_lba_status --lba=1 $DEV descriptor LBA: 0x0000000000000001 blocks: 16383 mapped The problem is in map_index_to_lba(), which should return the first LBA which is corresponding to a given index of provisioning map (map_storep).
