* um: elf.h: Fix W=1 warning for empty body in 'do' statementRandy Dunlap2021-04-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Use the common kernel style to eliminate a warning: ./arch/x86/um/asm/elf.h:215:32: warning: suggest braces around empty body in ‘do’ statement [-Wempty-body] #define SET_PERSONALITY(ex) do ; while(0) ^ Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@infradead.org> Cc: Jeff Dike <jdike@addtoit.com> Cc: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at> Cc: Anton Ivanov <anton.ivanov@cambridgegreys.com> Cc: linux-um@lists.infradead.org Signed-off-by: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
* x86: Clean up 'sizeof x' => 'sizeof(x)'Jordan Borgner2018-10-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | "sizeof(x)" is the canonical coding style used in arch/x86 most of the time. Fix the few places that didn't follow the convention. (Also do some whitespace cleanups in a few places while at it.) [ mingo: Rewrote the changelog. ] Signed-off-by: Jordan Borgner <mail@jordan-borgner.de> Cc: Borislav Petkov <bp@alien8.de> Cc: H. * x86: Add support for 64-bit place relative relocationsArd Biesheuvel2018-09-271-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add support for R_X86_64_PC64 relocations, which operate on 64-bit quantities holding a relative symbol reference. Also remove the definition of R_X86_64_NUM: given that it is currently unused, it is unclear what the new value should be. * x86, UML: fix integer overflow in ELF_ET_DYN_BASEAndrey Ryabinin2015-04-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Almost all arches define ELF_ET_DYN_BASE as 2/3 of TASK_SIZE. Though it seems that some architectures do this in a wrong way. The problem is that 2*TASK_SIZE may overflow 32-bits so the real ELF_ET_DYN_BASE becomes wrong. Fix this overflow by dividing TASK_SIZE prior to multiplying: (TASK_SIZE / 3 * 2) Signed-off-by: Andrey Ryabinin <a.ryabinin@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
* arm64,ia64,ppc,s390,sh,tile,um,x86,mm: remove default gate areaAndy Lutomirski2014-08-091-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The core mm code will provide a default gate area based on FIXADDR_USER_START and FIXADDR_USER_END if !defined(__HAVE_ARCH_GATE_AREA) && defined(AT_SYSINFO_EHDR). This default is only useful for ia64. arm64, ppc, s390, sh, tile, 64-bit UML, and x86_32 have their own code just to disable it. arm, 32-bit UML, and x86_64 have gate areas, but they have their own implementations. This gets rid of the default and moves the code into ia64. This should save some code on architectures without a gate area: it's now possible to inline the gate_area functions in the default case.
