While the mapping between I2C adapter functionality flags and
i2c_smbus_*() helper functions is rather obvious, let's still document
it for clarity.
Also drop the reference to 2 command byte I2C block reads, there is no
support for that in the kernel at the moment.

I did not receive a single bug report after interrupt support was
added for a limited number of chips. So I'd say the code is good and
should be enabled for all supported chips, that is: ICH5 and later.

This reverts commit bd52276fa1d4 ("x86-64/efi: Use EFI to deal with
platform wall clock (again)"), and the two supporting commits:
da5a108d05b4: "x86/kernel: remove tboot 1:1 page table creation code"
185034e72d59: "x86, efi: 1:1 pagetable mapping for virtual EFI calls")
as they all depend semantically on commit 53b87cf088e2 ("x86, mm:
Include the entire kernel memory map in trampoline_pgd") that got
reverted earlier due to the problems it caused.
This was pointed out by Yinghai Lu, and verified by me on my Macbook Air
that uses EFI.

This reverts commit 53b87cf088e2ea68d7c59619d0214cc15bb76133.
It causes odd bootup problems on x86-64. Markus Trippelsdorf gets a
repeatable oops, and I see a non-repeatable oops (or constant stream of
messages that scroll off too quickly to read) that seems to go away with
this commit reverted.
So we don't know exactly what is wrong with the commit, but it's
definitely problematic, and worth reverting sooner rather than later.

There are a number of "conventions" for where to put LSM filesystems.
Smack adheres to none of them. Create a mount point at /sys/fs/smackfs
for mounting smackfs so that Smack can be conventional.

The components NETLABEL and SECURITY_NETWORK are required by
Smack. Using "depends" in Kconfig hides the Smack option
if the user hasn't figured out that they need to be enabled
while using make menuconfig. Using select is a better choice.
Because select is not recursive depends on NET and SECURITY
are added. The reflects similar usage in TOMOYO and AppArmor.

It turns out it causes a very noticeable interactivity regression with
CONFIG_SCHED_AUTOGROUP (test-case: "make -j32" of the kernel in a
terminal window, while scrolling in a browser - the autogrouping means
that the two end up in separate cgroups, and the browser should be
smooth as silk despite the high load).
Says Paul Turner:
"It seems that the update-throttling on the wake-side is reducing the
interactive tasks' ability to preempt. While I suspect the right
longer term answer here is force these updates only in the
cross-cgroup case; this is less trivial. For this release I believe
the right answer is either going to be a revert or restore the updates
on the enqueue-side."

A NACK is probably the right thing. I was mostly converting a few
other drivers which used some simple, common patterns to use my new

As noted earlier, I don't have much interest in this driver. I agree
that there are some other issues with the driver; I think it leaks
memory if it is ever allowed to unload, for one. Feel free to submit
an alternative patch to prevent this driver from being built as a
module.

For direct (and offset) mounts, if an automounted mount is manually
umounted the trigger mount dentry can appear non-empty causing it to
not trigger mounts. This can also happen if there is a file handle
leak in a user space automounting application.
This happens because, when a ioctl control file handle is opened
on the mount, a cursor dentry is created which causes list_empty()
to see the dentry as non-empty. Since there is a case where listing
the directory of these dentrys is needed, the use of dcache_dir_*()
functions for .open() and .release() is needed.
Consequently simple_empty() must be used instead of list_empty()
when checking for an empty directory.

The DCACHE_NEED_AUTOMOUNT flag is cleared on mount and set on expire
for autofs rootless multi-mount dentrys to prevent unnecessary calls
to ->d_automount().
Since DCACHE_MANAGE_TRANSIT is always set on autofs dentrys ->d_managed()
is always called so the check can be done in ->d_manage() without the
need to change the flag. This still avoids unnecessary calls to
->d_automount(), adds negligible overhead and eliminates a seriously
ugly check in the expire code.

Initiator access config could be easier. The way other storage vendors
have addressed this is to support initiator groups: the admin adds
initiator WWNs to the group, and then LUN permissions can be granted for
the entire group at once.
Instead of changing ktarget's configfs interface, this patch keeps
the configfs interface per-initiator-wwn and just adds a 'tag' field
for each. This should be enough for user tools like targetcli to group
initiator ACLs and sync their configurations.
acl_tag is not used internally, but needs to be kept in configfs so that
all user tools can avoid dependencies on each other.
Code tested to work, although userspace pieces still to be implemented.

Fix the warnings reported by sparse on recent bridge multicast
changes. Mostly just rcu annotation issues but in this case
sparse found a real bug! The ICMPv6 mld2 query mrc
values is in network byte order.

If a natural number n exists where 2 + data_len <= 8n < 2 + data_len + pad,
post padding is not initialized correctly.
(Un)fortunately, the only type that requires pad is Infiniband,
whose pad is 2 and data_len is 20, and this logical error has not
become obvious, but it is better to fix.
Note that ndisc_opt_addr_space() handles the situation described
above correctly.

We could rate-limit it, but given we don't print similar messages

Because of commit e84de0c61905030a0fe66b7210b6f1bb7c3e1eab [MIPS: GIO bus
support for SGI IP22/28] newport con is now taking over console from
dummy con, therefore it's necessary to resize the VC to the correct size
to avoid crashes and garbage on console

Normally r4k_dma_cache_inv should only ever be called with cacheline
aligned addresses. If however, it isn't there is the theoretical
possibility of data corruption. There is no correct way of handling this
and anyway, it should only happen if the DMA API is used incorrectly
so drop
There is a different corruption scenario with these CACHE instructions
removed but again there is no way of handling this correctly and it can
be triggered only through incorrect use of the DMA API.
So just get rid of the complexity.

The default implementation of 'cpu_has_fpu' macro calls
smp_processor_id() which causes this warning to be printed when
preemption is enabled:

Fixed by rewriting cop1_64bit() to return a constant whenever possible

Our FP emulator is hardcoded for the MIPS IV FP instruction set and does
not match the FP ISA with the general ISA. However for the few MIPS IV FP
instructions that use the COP1X major opcode it relies on the Coprocessor
Unusable exception to be delivered as a COP1 rather than COP3 exception.
This includes indexed transfer (LDXC1, etc.) and FP multiply-accumulate
(MADD.D, etc.) instructions.
All the MIPS I, II, III and IV processors and some newer chips that do not
implement the FPU use the COP3 exception however. Therefore I believe the
kernel should follow and redirect any COP3 Unusable traps to the emulator
unless an actual FPU part or core is present.
This is a change that implements it. Any minor opcode encodings that are
not recognised as valid FP instructions are rejected by the emulator and
will result in a SIGILL signal being delivered as they currently do. We
do not support vendor-specific coprocessor 3 implementations supported
with MIPS I and MIPS II ISA processors; we never set CP0.Status.CU3.

replaces the CU3 bit off earlier architecture revisions.]
If matching between the CPU and the FPU ISA is considered required one
day, this can still be done in the emulator itself. I think the CpU
exception dispatcher is not the right place to do this anyway, as there
are further differences between MIPS I, MIPS II, MIPS III, MIPS IV and
MIPS32 FP ISAs.
Corresponding explanation of this implementation is included within the
change itself.

When poweroff machine, kernel_power_off() call disable_nonboot_cpus().
And if we have HOTPLUG_CPU configured, disable_nonboot_cpus() is not an
empty function but attempt to actually disable the nonboot cpus. Since
system state is SYSTEM_POWER_OFF, play_dead() won't be called and thus
disable_nonboot_cpus() hangs. Therefore, we make this patch to avoid
poweroff failure.

When CONFIG_UIDGID_STRICT_TYPE_CHECKS is enabled, plain integer checking
between different uids/gids is explicitely turned into a build failure
by making the k{uid,gid}_t types a structure containing a value:

ever included in the tree. Commit cb7f39d2bc5a20615d016dd86fca0fd233c13b5d

unused maltasmp.h.] removeed the sole file that included it because that
file was itself unused.
[ralf@linux-mips.org: The whole mess happened because somebody at MIPS
thought it was a good idea to rename VSMP ("Vitual SMP") to SMVP. Which
is an IBMeque ETLA in contrast to VSMP, so public kernels as opposed to
MTI's inhouse kernels never followed suit.]

Some initialization errors are reported with the existing OCTEON EDAC
support patch. Also some parts have more than one memory controller.
Fix the errors and add multiple controllers if present.
